We need entity data
« on: September 16, 2007, 01:54:19 PM »
Adding entity data, as used by AC and its clones, would be very useful and make DC more compatible and therefore more marketable.
Entity data lets you attach an application name, strings, numbers, various other properties/values to an entity.

DCAD18 added a drawing notes option as part of its new features that can serve just that purpose.

I've already asked about user notes without getting a response. There appears to be no way of getting to them through BasicCAD or OLE. Also they seem to be attached to the drawing, instead of being attached to individual entities.

Correct we do not have a method to access those yet thru basic cad and they are drawing notes not entity notes. perhaps in the future versions of DCAD we can develop some form of entity note system.

Wow! Has it already been a year since we dreamed those dreams? :o

Can we get a couple of macro commands please:

>writenote
{
<filename
}

>readnote
{
<filename
}

And a couple of  OLE methods:

DCdoc.GetNote and DCdoc.PutNote

Hi,

I'm having trouble finding "drawing notes" in my download v18 help.

Sounds interesting.

Where can I find the docs?

In the help pull down menu look for Drawing Info there should be a field there to enter the data.
