Improved rendering and export of asymmetric dimensions
« on: February 08, 2019, 04:19:43 AM »
Here's a solution that seems to fix problems caused by drawing asymmetric dimensions (eg off-center text, differing arrows) from right-to-left or top-to-bottom. The macro also creates progressive dimensions that appear to export correctly as dimensions. (In recent versions DC has exported progressive dimensions as exploded lines and text)

This macro draws the dimension using one of the standard dimension commands, and it then modifies the location of point #4 of the dimension. The reason point 4 needs fixing is unclear, but it appears related to  DC's providing "right/left" answers to "first/second" questions.

Point 3 also appears to be out of place when dimensions are drawn in reverse order, but moving point 3 did not seem to make any noticeable difference.in rendering.

Lemme know if you find any problems in rendering, exporting, or reimporting exported dimensions.

Regards,
bd
