AutoCAD DWG import
« on: August 09, 2018, 05:43:50 AM »
Hello All,

I'm using Design CAD 3D Max 25 and am having trouble importing any .dwg drawings form autocad. The drawings are building layout drawings in 2D.

I use the import command from a balnk design cad window. The drawing appears to load, redraws to what seems like completion on the screen, pauses for a few seconds then the program crashes every time. I have tried several drawings multiple times to no avail.

Does anyone know how I can get around this and import these dwg files?

Cheers

Have you tried playing with the import settings? it could be a font or a hatch pattern that is causing the crash - if you can get it to load without crashing by checking all the unchecked boxes you may find the culprit  by trial and error.

Can you post a file for us to try?

Most of the time I have to 'explode blocks'.

Thanks. Sorry I cannot post the file as it has company names on it and confidentiality prevents me.

Where do I find the import settings? I cant see any looking around.

I cant explode blocks as I cant open the file.

Cheers
