Corrupted file * Resolved (brain fart)
« on: May 31, 2018, 08:50:51 AM »
Here's an interesting problem that I experienced. The file was created in DC26, but the problem comes up in V25, 26, 27 and 28. (V15 actually doesn't have the problem!  8) )

Try adding text to the drawing. The cursor goes crazy.

I ended up exporting to DWG and importing back into DC. That fixed the cursor problem.

FWIW, the working files are kept on the server, but I've never experienced this type of corruption.

If I turn off the snap grid, the drawing seems to function normally

Your grid size is very large relative to the drawing, and it seems you may have accidentally turned the snap grid on.

Thanks!
Now that was embarrassing.  :-[ One errant key press and I wasted 15 minute in frustration. I never use the snap grid, so as penance I'm going to remap the key to pop up an obnoxious message.  :P

In Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy when Arthur pressed a button in the spaceship Heart of Gold a message popped up saying:

"Please don't press this button again."

Hey, Bob

What happened to you just makes the rest of us feel better about what happened to us!!!

Details to follow, some day...

As penance, could you edit the subject of your original post and mark it resolved or something for benefit of persons scanning the headlines??

Hi Bob,

I never use the grid either, so I long ago mapped the "G" key to "group define" and the "U" key to "group explode" (group/ungroup).
