Editing Points of Grid Surfaces Causing Crash-DC 2018
« on: December 05, 2017, 05:49:09 PM »
This has been happening awhile now but I only just realize it's a fresh new bug in 2018.

Every time I select a grid surface by itself and go to edit its points, with point select mode, dcad crashes. If the grid is selected along with something else, even another grid (in a solid or not), or by using the Point Move command, editing its points won't crash dcad.

Anybody else experiencing this?

Not so far but easily confirmed, and yes new in 2018.

New blank drawing, draw a cylinder, and explode it to create a grid.

Turn on point select mode, and select the grid.

Notice that the cursor icon does not change as it should when hovering over a point.

Try to select the point to move it anyway, and "Timbeeer....."

Selecting any other object causes the cursor to change when hovering, and allows the points to be moved.

So if you can remember not to click if the cursor has not changed, then fairly easy to work around.

Yup, me too.
Same as Rob, I hadn't experienced it until I tested it just now - but easy to recreate.
It happens whether you are selecting one point or a number of points together.
