Outline or Shadow Text in DesignCAD 2016
« on: August 28, 2017, 07:29:25 PM »
Is there any way to create or import Outline or Shadow Text into DesignCAD 2016? I would like to apply such text to a drawing I am currently working on.

Thank you,

There's no way to do Shadow text as a special format of regular text. The only way to accomplish that in DesignCAD would be to duplicate the original text in the desired shadow color, and place it slightly offset from (and behind) the foreground copy.

You can sort of create outline text by using the 'Save in vector form' option in the Text command.
Or you can vector-convert existing text to explode it into outlines.

Finally, you can draw one copy of the text as normal, a second copy with 'Save in vector form', then apply a different color and thick line width to the vectorized copy.

The picture attached shows what these procedures look like.
