DesignCad 2016 and CADSymbols
« on: January 09, 2017, 09:45:21 AM »
CADSymbols came with my DesignCad2016 package.  IDK how to easily use it.  In CADSymbols DesignCad in any version and .dcd filetypes are not options I can find for Targets, or save-as file types.  The only way I can see to use drawings in CADSymbols in a .dcd drawing is to export them as .dwg drawings, providing a file name in the process and then import them into the DesignCad drawing.  Since this product came bundled with DesignCad, surely there must be a simpler way.  If anyone can point me in the direction of an easier path I would appreciate it.

BTW, the menu options in CADSymbols except for "Targets" are very limited, and in some cases not even options. e.g., under Settings the only item is CAD.  You can't unselect it nor change it to anything else.  So its not an option.

Hi Jim,

At this time, CADSymbols doesn't natively support of the DesignCAD file format. So the method you have discovered is indeed the correct one.
2016 marks my 24th year in DesignCAD-Land!

Sigh, but thank you for the confirmation.
