Potential Custom Toolbox Problem
« on: November 02, 2016, 05:54:17 AM »
Hi everyone,

I have just been made aware that, for DesignCAD 24 and later, adding the Print... command to a custom toolbox may cause DesignCAD to hang. You won't notice a problem when you first create the toolbox, only when you close and re-load DesignCAD.

We're looking into the cause of this, but for now, if you are experiencing unexpected 'freezes' in DesignCAD 24, 25, or 2016, remove any custom toolboxes that contain the Print icon, and rebuild those toolboxes without that command.

Oh man, that's nasty!

Set up a toolbox with only the print icon just to test it out...

Immediately after restart dcad locked up.  Hum...this is interesting.

After watching the screen a few moments I notice a screen glitch about every 5 secs...everything would briefly shift to the left.

Fortunately I had left this test toolbox in the middle of the window and by following the 5 sec rhythm I was able to close just when everything shifted left...[all my musical training finally pays off!]

So yea,  this is big problem especially for those new to DCAD.
Must be a memory loop going on in there...
All Success sorting this one out!

For the record, this was fixed in the DesignCAD 2016.2 and DesignCAD 3D Max 2016.2 updates.
