Now this is a 3D CAD system! Check out that monitor - floor to ceiling. With stereo vision glasses you can really walk through the design!

This is being used in the construction of a new aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald Ford. CAD ship modeling at it's finest!

Wonder how soon DT and company can add this to DesignCAD?

And it looks like you can literally check if you hit your head on any pipes.
Agreed, that sure is a CAD system.

Reminds me of this comparison :)

Still, DCAD is great for smaller boats yes?

Technically, a 3D display shouldn't be hard.  It "just" requires two simultaneous viewpoints with unique colors.  The problem might lie in the video system where a lot of the display calculations happen within the video card itself, but I'm not an expert.  ::)
