content of blocks should be measured
« on: September 05, 2014, 11:36:13 AM »
I just learned the following today.

When measuring the area or perimeter of selected entities, all DC versions through 23 ignore the entities contained in selected blocks.

Also, when counting entities, in the help menu, entities within blocks are ignored.

I use the perimeter function to measure tool paths, and I use the count of circles and point marks to count drill plunges.

I use the area function to cost material. If DC is not going to use exploded blocks by default when doing these calculations, then it would be helpful if  there were at least an optional setting to force DC to do these calculations  taking the content of blocks into account.
