3D MOUSE Compatibility
« on: March 07, 2014, 06:36:04 PM »
I thought I could add my grain of salt to this imposing list...

The new rage for the 3D CAD programs seems to be those new control knobs that allow you to intuitively control the view of your 3D part on the screen.

If you don't know about them yet, check this out!

Isn't that the coolest thing or what ?
Being able to rotate / pan / zoom / move the drawing instantly with just two fingers...
It's a dream come true. Well, at least for me.

Those things will quickly become must-haves in the CAD world.

Now, would IMSI be willing to invest some time in the programming to make DCAD COMPATIBLE with those controllers?
The advantages i see are that it solves the problems we have with zooming & orienting the drawing. And then it would be a huge incentive for newcomers to buy a CAD program that is already compatible with those controllers. I t would elevate DCAD almost to the level of the expensive programs, performance-wise.

OK, now I'll wake-up from my dream, and stand ready for deception, again.

Well it's worth checking out bdeck's EXCELLENT vdd.d3m macro :)

His reply #49 gives the latest version of that macro.

Personally I use one of the earlier drafts ( #35) which I found was plenty adequate for my needs :) - and can take snaps of the screen at will.
cheers
