Merge and Open
« on: June 06, 2010, 09:20:21 AM »
The Merge command does not appear to perform as intended.

a) It does not "desymbolize" drawings prior to loading.
b) If it fails to find the specified drawing, it will branch out, but it will still display the fileselector.

The Open command branches out without displaying the fileselector if it fails to find the specified drawing file.

See examples at http://forum.designcadcommunity.com/index.php?topic=2943.msg15910#msg15910.

Tested in versions 17.2 and 20.0 on Win2k.

Hi bdeck,
My feeling is that, once the focus is to Windows fileselector, the program is out of the macro . There should exist a way to reconnect to this macro.
In theory this should work with the RUN statement, but so far, that has  failed for me .

Paul.

Hi Paul,

The macro appears to still have control if the specified file is found, so the problem appears to be somewhere in the logic of the open and merge functions.

As an alternative (and on a different topic), we could program around these bugs if only we had a separate macro funtion to get direct access to the file selector.

At any rate, the present macro functions should be fixed.

Hi dbeck,
Agreement with that.
